He was predeceased by: his father P. Albert Smith; his sister Melinda Taylor; and his father-in-law Bill Garrison. He is survived by: his mother Sandra Smith; his wife Linda K. Garrison; his mother-in-law Lauretta Garrison; his children, Amber Flowers (Rodney), Micha White (Jay), Joshua Smith and Rachel Smith-Streck (Matt); and his grandchildren, Aubrey, Kaiden (Landry Flowers), Zeus and Milo (Hector). He is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in memory of Mike to FUMC Muskogee, Ponca City FUMC, Mooreland FUMC, Como UMC, or Hardesty UMC.
