He is survived by: his wife Jo Avalon Merrell of Muskogee, OK; his children, Janet Merrell Griffin (Stan) of Rock Port, MO and Tommy Joe Merrell (Peggy) of Checotah, OK; his brother William Merrell (Sharla) of Norman, OK; his sister-in-law Patsy Merrell of Goldsby, OK; and his grandchildren, Michelle Tibbs of Oklahoma City, OK, Michael Dykstra (Kumi) of Shawnee, OK, Larissa Herrera (Josh) of Edmond, OK, Becky Merrell of Oklahoma City, OK, Mindy-Ann Cornell (Aaron) of Moore, OK, Wiley Merrell of Superior, AZ, Tom Martin Merrell of Checotah, OK, Ryan Griffin (Anne) of Columbia, MO, Aaron Griffin (Whitney) of Jefferson City, MO, Kathryn Griffin of Washington, D. C. and Regan Griffin (Sheila) of Rock Port, MO. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
