She was predeceased by: her significant other Leonard Gatewood. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Brooke Burwell (Keith), Heath Bollinger (Jessica), Anthony Palazzolo (Lindsay), Ben Palazzolo (Adrian) and Amanda Palazzolo; and her brother James "Jimmy" Martin. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barbara's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
