He was predeceased by: his parents, Judson Lanier and Myrtle Lanier (Hammontree); his former wife Lawana; his great grandchild Jackson; his great great grandchild Stetsyn; and his siblings, Bill, Dorothy and Mattie Sue.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Fay Walker; and his children, Rod Lanier (Leslie), Don Lanier (Teresa), Marcie Sims (Will) and Charles Gibson (Celia). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
