He was predeceased by: his parents, Larry Shields and Connie Shields (Preston). He is survived by: his wife Norma Shields; his children, Afton Diedrich (Garin) and Tyson Shields (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Paisley Diedrich, Krue Diedrich, Hank Shields, Kailor Diedrich, Lane Shields, Piper Diedrich and Ivy Shields; and his sisters, Debbie Gibson (Steve) and Deanna Barnes (John). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Roberts Memorial Chapel. A burial will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Olive Cemetery (22745 Ferguson Ave, Nardin, OK 74646).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Darrell's honor to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org), or to Shriner's Hospital, in care of Roberts and Son Funeral Home. Consider a donation, as requested by the family.
