It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Claude Wilbur Koenke of Newkirk, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Koenke; his children, Christie Rutter and Doug Koenke; his parents, Clarence Koenke and Evelynn Leasman Koenke Hawkins; his siblings, Kathleen Rozzell, Colleen Golden, Kenneth Koenke, Carol Koenke and Vitora "Tootie" Hodges; and his grandson Chance Koenke.
He is survived by: his children, Shae Koenke (Jennifer Koenke), Jeff Koenke (Cathy Koenke), Terri Syler (Scott Syler) and Cheri GilmoreClaude. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with many other family members.
The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Red Cross or American Legion Post 18 of Arkansas City, in memory of Claude W. Koenke.
