Alexander John Kondonassis Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alexander John Kondonassis of Norman, Oklahoma, who passed away on May 12, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Isadore Kondonassis and Eve Kondonassis (Hatzistylianou). He is survived by: his children, Yolanda and John; his granddaughter Amanda; and his son-in-law Michael.
He was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Governor of Oklahoma declared May 17, 2005, "Alex J. Kondonassis Day" for his contributions to the State of Oklahoma. Upon his retirement from OU, he was presented with OU's Seed Sower Award for extraordinary academic contributions to the University of Oklahoma.
