He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra "Pete" Deain and Mae Irene Deain; his wife Mary Martha Deain (Novak); his daughter Mary "Kathy" Deain Mays; his siblings, Everette Deain (Thelma Wiley), Phyllis Wiley (Skyler Wiley), Wayne Deain, Mary Jane Hudson, Robert P. Deain and James Deain; his brother-in-law Vernon Hudson; and his children-in-law, Earl L. Kinard and Cynthia Ann Wilkinson Deain.
He is survived by: his children, Shirley Kinard and Dale "Dick" R. Deain; his son-in-law James Mays; his sister-in-law Della Ann Deain; and his friend David Davidson. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, his longtime friend and golfing buddy.
