David will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor David by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though David is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. David’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sandra Drennan; his son Daniel Drennan; his daughter-in-law Melissa; his daughter Leigh DeFreitas; his son-in-law Jason; and his grandsons, Dylan (Purdue University), Noah (University), David Lee (Syracuse University) and Jason Jr. "JJ" (Durgee Junior).
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tribute Memorial (4300 W Indian Hills Rd, Norman, OK 73072). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the First Christian Church (220 S Webster Ave, Norman, OK 73069).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doc's honor to the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics (OSSM) or to the Cleveland County Christmas Store, continuing his lifelong dedication to learning and community care.
