He was predeceased by: his parents, E. L. Hightower and Laura Hightower; his wife Betty Jo Hightower; his son Mark Steven Hightower; and his siblings, Bob Hightower and Shirley Kadaster.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Battles of Norman, Lisa Nieman (Jerry) of Colorado Springs, Cynthia Horan (Terry) of Fleming Island and Terry Lynn Hightower (Julie Gust) of Norman, Oklahoma; his brothers, Ron Hightower (Mary Lou) of Moore and Carrol Hightower of Cordell, Oklahoma; and his close friend Sean Nelson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Havenbrook Funeral Home (3401 Havenbrook St, Norman, OK 73072). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
