“Just received the news this morning of Dr. Shadid's death. Have shared it with Sr. Alice Wittenbach and Sr. Marilyn Brodd, three of his many friends. Am saddened but cannot wish for him to be separated from his dear Joyce any longer - and rejoice that he is face to face with the God he loved. My prayers and sympathy are with you Larry, David, Dee and Greg, your spouses and your children and grand and great grandchildren. I, for one, with whom he worked in therapy owe him much.
