With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gretchen Harris of Norman, Oklahoma, born in Elk City, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 7, 2023 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Grover and Hazel Grover (Singleton). She is survived by: her husband Darrell Harris; and her cousins, Tom Singleton (Gayle), Gayle Gardner (Jerry), Betsy Singleton Snyder (Victor), Steve Singleton (Becky), Liz Wilson (Ed), Tyson (Bella), Sarah Biewen (Matteo), Peggy Carter (Garland), Virginia, Maria Van Loben Sels, Montana and Mary Katherine Firestone.
Her community involvement and contributions to Oklahoma and to Norman, a city she loved, are legendary and included two-time chair of the Cleveland County Election Board, Full Circle Board member, Governor's Commission on the Status of Women, Board of Directors for FOI Oklahoma, Inc.
