She is survived by: her husband Walter Bowling; her daughters, Micah D. Wronowski (Joshua) and Stephanie L. Yeary (Gregory); her grandchildren, Michaiah, Madeline, Canaan, Dale and Claire; her sisters, Lea Ann Dunaway and Dana Johnson; and her close friend Carol Dearman. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

“I had so hoped to be able to attend the service honoring Mattie today. I have many good memories of the years we worked together at the American Red Cross. One funny memory: somehow she and Bubba and I discovered we all loved peas. Next thing I knew Mattie had made us each cards for the “I Love Peas Fan Club”! I think I still have that card someplace. Mattie was also a very talented artist. I was surprised to receive one of her rock paintings several years ago. I treasure it. God bless you all-”
