We are sad to announce that, on February 26, 2026, at the age of 94, Maureen Bynum (Norman, Oklahoma) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Homa Durrett and Nita Vae Durrett (Thompson); her husband Chester Lee Bynum; and her brother James Homa Durrett, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Ben Randall (Jennifer) of Norman, Brett Bynum (Marlene) of Farmington, NM, Burl Bynum (Randa Sabbagha) of Moab, UT and Brenda Bynum (Jim Jenner) of Abiquiu; her grandchildren, Jydonne Bynum, Jamar Bynum (Conn Wethington), Bailey Dowell (John Dowell) and Austin Bynum; and her great grandchild Bennie.

To honor Maureen's life and legacy, memorial contributions may be directed to Norman Regional Foundation where gifts support the Chester L. and Maureen Bynum Scholarship Fund.
