“Dear dr. Slatt, thanks for everything you had done for me as my committee chair, and even though i was not in your research group, and needed you to serve as my committee chair, you agreed and showed care and interest about my research. I haven't got a chance to thank you in person and i still can't believe you are gone and rest in the heaven right now. You are a great geologist, a pioneer, a mentor and a good person! I will carry your legacy and try my best to help others! R.i.p, dr. Slatt!”
