She was predeceased by: her parents, Bob Thompson and Mae Thompson; her children, Melissa Lynn Remington and Mark Scott; and her sister Sarah Moreland.

She is survived by: her husband Howard; her children, Robert Rush Remington (Heather) of Fenton, Sean Remington (Jill) of St. Charles, J. J. Remington (Brad) of Nowata, Cindy LaRussa (Tony) of Arlington, Steve Scott (Brenda) of Tahlequah and Tony Scott (Robbie) of Nowata; and her siblings, Johnnie Thompson of Nowata, Billy Thompson (Helen) of Tulsa, Jim Thompson of Langley, Oklahoma and Faye Norris of Afton, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and her beloved dogs.

The family suggests that those who wish may make donations in Dorothy's memory to the Living Word Church.
