He was predeceased by: his parents, Ora Dodson and Ellen Dodson (Creekpaum); his wife Juanita Dodson (Landers); and his siblings, Paul Dodson, Wesley Dodson, Goldie Rosson, Pricilla Henshaw, Dorothy Dodson and Lyda Salyer.
He is survived by: his children, Curtis Eugene Dodson of Okemah, Aaron Dean Dodson of Okemah, Rebecca Dodson of Fayetteville and Roseanna Dodson of Morris, Oklahoma.; and his siblings, Sam (Louise Dodson), Elizabeth (Bob Hollingsworth), Mary Divine of Henryetta, Allene (Roy Wilbourn) and Marie Henry of Schulter. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
