We are sad to announce that, on April 8, 2026, at the age of 85, James Morphis of Okemah, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As James departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved James. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Morphis and Lorene Morphis (Haley); his stepfather Newell Hearn; his brother Robert "Bob" Morphis; his daughter Tina Morphis; and his granddaughter Sara Beth Brandt.
He is survived by: his brother Gerald Hearn (Cindi) of Omaha, Nebraska; his children, Jimmy Morphis Jr. of Okemah, Teddy Morphis (LawDawna) of Prague, Diane Graves (Chad) of New Hampshire and Gina Brandt (Tommy) of Okemah; and his nieces, Stephanie Hearn-Purcell and Rachel Hearn. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
