He is survived by: his wife Janet Marie Smith (Deaton); his children, Kevin Johnston (Melissa), Kandi McIntyre, Kristi Wells (David), Kari Buddy (Stephen) and Kimberly Smith; his siblings, Hershall Smith and Norma Hale; and his grandchildren, Timothy Johnston, Logan Johnston, Tara Astafan, Levi Johnston, Nathan Wells, Chad Wells, Cameron Patee, Evan Astafan, Hailey Patee, Rylee Patee, Wyatt Buddy, Gracie McIntyre and Luke Johnston. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
