He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Oliver Hawkins and Grace Avis Philbin; his brother Richard Hawkins; and his nephews, Tony Hawkins and Zeb Slocomb.
He is survived by: his wife Lou Powell Leonard; his sons, Todd Hawkins (Ian) of Irving, TX, Shawn Hawkins (Bobbi) of Norman, Billy Jo Powell (Becky) of Oklahoma City and David Powell (Kristy) of Amarillo, TX.; his grandchildren, Josh Norton (Angeles), Teagan Hawkins (Indy), Trevor Hawkins, Bryce Hawkins, Tyler Powell (Morgan) and Ryan Powell; his great grandchildren, Charles Gene Hawkins and Chandler Paige Powell; and his sister Janet Slocomb (Bryan) of Washington, OK. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
