He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Short, Jr. and Marion Ruth Short. He is survived by: his daughter Katelyn Ruth Short (Branen Kirtley); his siblings, David W. Short (Carrie) and Susan Short Bacon; his nephews, Lauren Short Lambright, Ian Short, James Bacon and Alexander Bacon; his aunt Marilyn Short Thompson; and his uncle Michael'Mike'Short.
