He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ely Barton and Helen Viola Yogg; his wife Rosa M. Brown; his son David Paul Barton; and his siblings, George M. Barton, Edward R. Barton Sr., Veronica Springer and Rita Wright.

He is survived by: his son Michael G. Barton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
