He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Russell and Bonnie Ruth Smith (Minton); his brother Larry Smith; and his parents-in-law, Helen Deewall and John (Jane Deewall).
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Smith of Alva; his children, Tiffany Eddy (Thomas) of Bluffdale, Tray Smith (Whitney) of Newcastle and Tenille Smith of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren, Ty, Zoey Smith, Trinity and Titus Eddy; his sister Bonita Cox (Glen) of Anderson, Indiana; and his sister-in-law Glenda Smith of Katy, Texas. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Alva Rec Center (with checks being made to Freedom West CDC), Northwestern Foundation for the Athletic Department or Music/Theatre Department, or the First United Methodist Church of Alva (Dr. Troy Smith memorial which will go towards funds for youth church camps).
