We announce the death of Derek James Thomas of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, who passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 47. He was predeceased by: his father Albert Taylor; his children, Marley Thomas and A. J. Thomas; and his brother Anthony Thomas. He is survived by: his mother Frieda Mae Tulsa (Thomas); his siblings, David Thomas, Becky Tulsa, John Taylor, Ange Taylor, Lydia Taylor, Neil Taylor and Mandy Taylor; his son Derek Thomas III; and his grandmother Hattie Birdcreek. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.
