Frank Norman Holderness Obituary

FRANK HOLDERNESS Frank Norman Holderness, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 20, 2025. Frank was born November 23, 1934, in Garden City, Kansas to Blanche Belle (True) and Pearl Lee "P.L." Holderness.

He attended and graduated from Garden City High School in 1952. Frank joined the Kansas National Guard on February 16, 1953, and served as a Reconnaissance and Surveillance Sargent. During his service, he received an award of commendation for meritorious service and was honorably discharged in 1959.

Frank married Sandra Jean Keune on April 12, 1955. He, his wife and their sons moved to Okmulgee in 1970. Frank was a skilled carpenter and for many years he owned his own siding business. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and sports. He cherished his family and friends and frequently spent his free time surrounded by those he loved.

Frank and his wife Sandra were long time members of the Trinity Lutheran Church, where Frank served as an elder for many years. Through the church, he and his wife met their dear friends Jeff and Ellen Schmeader, whom made Frank and his wife their children's godparents. This was a role both Frank and Sandra deeply cherished. They remained close friends into his later years, picking him up for church and often checking in on him. The family would like to express our gratitude to the Schmeders for their long-standing love and support.

Frank was proceeded in death by his wife Sandra Jean Holderness. His parents Blanche Belle (True) and Pearl Lee "P.L." Holderness; and sister Elaine Hayden (Holderness).

He is survived by his sons Mitchell and wife Tammy Holderness of Beggs, Ok and Brian and wife Mary Holderness of St. Louis, MO. Sisters Carolyn Davis (Holderness) and Darlene Holderness, both of Garden City, KS.
