It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melva Jo Bennett of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, born in Harrison, Arkansas, who passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her mothers, Lucille Payne and Melva Jo; her former life partner J. B. Bennett Jr.; and her sisters, Peggy Seay and Patsy Spriggs.

She is survived by : her husband Mayor; her children, Dana (Louis Sigalos), Bo (Melanie Bennett) and Bon (Jamie Bennett); her grandchildren, Rowdy Rudd (Allison), Byron Bennett, Meilani Bennett, Archer Bennett (Jenny) and Avery Bennett; and her great grandchildren, Olivia and Ella Rudd.
