He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Josephine Ballard and Vernon Victor Makinson. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Makinson; his children, Tammy (James Melton) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Darin (Shelby Alexander) of Morris, Oklahoma; his granddaughters, Alyssa Melton Abbott of Laconia, Victoria Melton of Seminole and Autumn Alexander of Morris, Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Riley Ann, Luna Rose and Phoenix Rose; his siblings, Anne Wiggins of Oologah, Oklahoma, Janet (Jarrett Kelough) of Ada, Oklahoma and Arnold Makinson of Morris, Oklahoma; and his pets, Petey and Sissy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home - Okmulgee (303 E 7th St, Okmulgee, OK 74447). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Hoffman Cemetery.
