It is with sadness that the passing of Ron Childress of Owasso, Oklahoma is shared. Ron, born on June 29, 1946, passed away on September 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery Preston and Catherine Marie Childress (Brady); his wife Kay Hayes; his granddaughter Hope Marie Cowan; his sister Janet Pinckney; his niece Helena Purl; and his nephews, Tommy Pinckney and Micah Hershey.
He is survived by: his children, Preston Childress, Andy Hicks of Catoosa, OK, Brady Childress, Shawn Howard-Childress of Owasso, OK, Ronda Cowan and Bob of Caney, KS; his grandchildren, Infinity Browning of Tulsa, OK, Haley Moran, Ryan of Caney, KS, Tyler Cowan, Abigail of Caney, KS and Jillian Childress of Lawrence, KS; his great grandchildren, Inez, Issa Browning, Gracen, Kynlee Winstead, Castiel, Nadine, Santana, Willow Moran, Waylon and Bentley Cowan; his sister Christy; and his brother-in-law Hershey. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:45 AM at the Tyro Christian Church (301 S Market St, Tyro, KS 67364).
