He is survived by: his wife Melody Coverdell (Cox); his sons, Bill Coverdell (Kristi) and Paul Coverdell (Lisa); his grandson Michael Coverdell (Kaylee); his great grandchild Ashton Coverdell; and his brother Charles Bateman.
