He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Allen Whitson and Aggie Whitson (Conner); his brothers, Tommy, Ralph and Russell; his son Darrin Ford; and his sisters, Martha Geraldine McAfee and Wyona Sands.
He is survived by: his children, Dewayne Whitson, Mark Whitson (Janice), Ladean Shelton and Danna Monk (Chad); and his siblings, Ronald Whitson (Dee), Pat Stover, Paula Lively (Larry) and Claudia Whitson. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
