He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Sumner and Lottie Anna Sumner (Luton); his wife Ruthie Lee Sumner (Wright); his brother Don Sumner (Joyce); and his sister-in-law Betty Sumner.
He is survived by: his children, David Wayne Sumner of Pauls Valley, Raymond Lynn Sumner of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Cindy Foster (Kenneth) of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Charlie Sumner of Durant, Billy Sumner of Paoli, Oklahoma and Nancy Sims of Lindsay, Oklahoma. He is also survived by Eight Grandchildren, Seventeen Great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of other friends and family.
