He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Walter Skidgel, Jr. and Lois Garner Skidgel; and his niece Kaelyn Skidgel. He is survived by: his significant other Janice D. Skidgel; his children, Dwayne Skidgel (Lori) of Pawnee, OK, Ginger Klaassen (Chris) of Hydro, OK, Lorie Benes (Travis) of Glencoe and Brian Skidgel (Kaileen) of Pawnee, OK.; his grandchildren, Chelsea Kendle (Daniel), Macey Moore (Patton), Hayden Skidgel, Conner Skidgel (Dwayne), Raegan Klaassen, Ryder Klaassen (Ginger), Chace Benes (Courtney), McKenzie Benes (Lorie), Blake Skidgel, Brooklyn Skidgel and Bryce Skidgel (Brian); his great grandchildren, Miles, Quinn, Blythe Kendle and Parker Moore; his brother Jerry Skidgel (Jan); his uncle Melvin Garner (Sharon); and his aunt Mary Garner. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Poteet Funeral Home (600 Illinois St, Pawnee, OK 74058). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Pawnee First Baptist Church (720 6th St, Pawnee, OK 74058). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Highland Cemetery (44900 S 348 Rd, Pawnee, OK 74058).
