He was predeceased by: his parents, J. T. "Mack" Nickels and Kathryn Lodiene Nickels (Kirby); and his brother Kirby Lynn Nickels. He is survived by: his wife Irene J. Nickels; his son Corey Keith Nickels; his daughter-in-law Annette Nickels; his grandchildren, Lance Gazaway and Anna Slavens (Mike Slavens); and his great grandchildren, Caleb Gazaway (Skye) and Zander Gazaway.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Eden Chapel United Methodist Church (1005 E Kirk Ave, Perkins, OK 74059).
