He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Mendenhall and Katherine Mendenhall Mason (Dougherty); his stepfather Howard Mason; his brothers, Royal Mendenhall and Rick Mendenhall; his nephew Ricky Mendenhall; and his niece Evelyn Shay.

He is survived by: his daughters, Elisha, Rita and Ginger; and his siblings, Randy Mendenhall (Connie), Kathy Ewy (Rusty), Karen Mason (Benny Richards) and Derek Mason (Rhonda). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
