It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James William Wright of Pocola, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 13, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Wright and Bonnie Wright (Peters). He is survived by: his wife Linda Wright; his sons, Richard Lee Wright (Tera) of Muldrow and Dennis James Wright (Misty) of Poteau; his grandchildren, Daniel James Wright (Shauna) of Newport, PA, Madison Ward (Allen) of Muldrow, Katelyn Wright of Panama and Nala Wright of Poteau; and his great grandchildren, Kiera, Dakota, Dalton, Atom and Luna.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ocker Putman Funeral Home (4500 Jenny Lind Rd, Fort Smith, AR 72901). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the U. S. National Cemetery (522 Garland Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901).
