Howard left this world on October 17, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Varnell and Verna Varnell (Greenhall); his former wife Fairrell Varnell; his brothers, Carlile and Herbert Varnell Jr.; and his son-in-law Lonnie Hyslope.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janie Mendenhall (Jim) of Porum, Debra Hyslope of Porum and Naomi Varnell (Jacob Couch) of Frierson, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Tina, Todd Ross, Jessie Smith, Jamie, Melissa Hyslope, Brooke, Trampas Tripp and Carley Martin; his great grandchildren, Tennisee (Eric), Jeremiah, Jessie Jr., Josey, Wyley, Gabriel, Asa, Memphis, Keegan and Xander; and his brother Homer Varnell of Camanche, OK.. He is also survived by 9 great great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the King and Shearwood Funeral Home (808 E Main St, Stigler, OK 74462). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church ~ Porum Porum (114 4th St, Porum, OK 74455).
