With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Helen (Pitchford) Deffenbaugh of Poteau, Oklahoma, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Kendricks and Amy Edith Pitchford (Blaylock); her husband Edwin C. Deffenbaugh; and her siblings, Wanda Faye (Carl Richmond), Ida Sue (Jesse Finch), Bexta Jean Pitchford, Bobby Carrol (Patsy Pitchford), Earl Eugene Pitchford and Lester K. Pitchford, Jr..
She is survived by: her brother Bill Pitchford (Lynne) of Heavener, Oklahoma.; her sisters-in-law, Patsy Pitchford of Bossier City, Norma Pitchford of Poteau and Laura Mae Deffenbaugh of Arkansas; her uncle Ed (Cliff); Helen.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Noon. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel (710 US-270, Heavener, OK 74937). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in your area for a youth or little league baseball team in honor of Helen.
