It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Duane Cowen Sr. of Pryor, Oklahoma, who passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cowen and Mildred "Bertie" Cowen (Sory); and his wife Elaine Cowen. He is survived by: his children, Duane Cowen (Candy) of Navarre Beach, John Cowen of Pryor, Oklahoma and Dianna Williams (Bob) of Stonewall, Oklahoma; and his great grandchildren, Bryan Pogue, Jake Williams, Brycen Cowen, Madlin Cowen, Tyler Cowen, Taegus Pogue, Chase Cowen, Zach Cowen, Savannah Cowen and Bentley Cowen. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Calendar Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service (1204 NE 1st St, Pryor, OK 74361). A graveside service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at 1423 Cemetery Rd, Fort Gibson, OK 74434.
