He was predeceased by: his parents, Rex Karnes and Jeannie Karnes (Victor); his siblings, Marion "Bill" Karnes and Janice Peak; and his nephew Billy Karnes.

He is survived by: his brothers, Joe Karnes (Cathy) of Quapaw, OK and Richard Karnes (Susan) of Miami, OK. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephew.
