With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Norma Sam of Red Oak, Oklahoma, who passed away on December 4, 2022 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alton Lee Carney and Juanita Belle Coley; her husband Cornelius Ray Sam Jr.; her children, Theresa Sam and Carlos Sam; her children-in-law, Elaine Sam, Rolando Querubin and William Hood; her siblings, Kathryn Seyler, Helen Brannon, Willhemina Baker, Johnny Carney, Victor Billy, Frank Bell, Ron Billy, Don Billy and Jerry Billy; and her grandchildren, Jeremy Dodson, Nicole Sam and Emily Sizemore.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Sam of Wilburton, Merle Sam of Wilburton, Della Querubin of Poteau, Morris Sam (Roberta) of Wilburton, Rebecca Pruter (Chad) of Wilburton, Matthew Sam of Wilburton, Mark Sam (Lucinda) of Krebs and Carla Enriquez (Daniel) of Poteau; her stepsons, Paul Sam of Oklahoma City and John Gaines (Jeanette) of Garden Grove, CA; and her sisters, Geraldine Isabel, Julia Hood, Connie Meftahi, Doris Box, Mary Lou Ellenburg and Isabel Carney. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
