It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda M. (Walker) Harris of Roland, Oklahoma, who passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Wanda M. leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Wanda M. may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pearl Lavay Wilson (Freeman) and Clarence Asten Walker, Sr.; and her sons, Melvin Steve Rice and Stanley Eugene Rice. She is survived by: her children, Freida Komoto of Denair, CA, Jackie Lee Rice of Poteau, OK and David Rice of Modesto, CA; and her brother Joe Lee Walker of Texas. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
