He was predeceased by : his parents, George Knapp and Alice Murial Knapp; his children, Sheila Kay Knapp and John Knapp; his granddaughter Elaine Jordan; and his son-in-law Harry Dyer (Joyce Faye Knapp).

He is survived by : his wife Joyce; his sisters, Jane Fauser (Dick) and Nancy Borchers (Jack); his children, Joe Knapp, Jaqueline Dyer, Julie Woods (Kenneth), Terrance Knapp (Beki) and Christopher Knapp (Jennifer); his daughter-in-law Teri Knapp; and his grandchildren, John Pyle (Lindsay), Samantha Ealey, Allen Gunn, Heather Woods, Hayleigh Woods, George Knapp (Teresa), Gene Knapp, Tina Knapp, Schuyler Knapp, Jeremy Knapp, Angela Knapp, Kalani Knapp, Kathryn Knapp and Turner Knapp. He is also survived by twenty-four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
