He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar Riley and Effie Idella Nicholson (Arnold); his wife Nada Berg (Scoville); his siblings, Phillip, Riley Nicholson and Bulah Burris (Russell); his stepdaughter Tia; and his daughter-in-law Susie Nicholson.
He is survived by : his children, Jim Nicholson, Jane Bates, Judi Thomas (Larry), Jeffrey Nicholson and Sarah Nicholson; his stepsons, Bryan Berg (Susan) and Andrew "Andy" Berg (Vicki); his sister-in-law Martha Nicholson; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Hale (Thomas) and James "Jimmy" Nicholson. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
