Merla Fay Gilbert Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on February 19, 2026, at the age of 96, Merla Fay Gilbert of Sapulpa, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Doyel and Evelyn Doyel; her sister Pat Williams (Lea Maley); her husband Joe Gilbert; and her brother-in-law James Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph Michael Gilbert (Colleen Gilbert) and Kathryn LeAnn Gilbert (Bryan Norton); her grandchildren, Joseph Benjamin Gilbert (Monika Ford) and Angela Renae McElroy (Daniel McElroy); and her great grandchildren, James McElroy, Benjamin McElroy and Maddox Ford. She is also survived by many other cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Creek County Literacy.
