Oma Williams Obituary

Oma was born Oma Marie Elaine Thomas, November 12th of 1932, in Springfield, Missouri, born to Frank Doc and Inez Thomas, who have proceeded her in death. She had 1 half brother Ray Lane; sister Earthie Dennis; sister Helen Bear; sister Frankie Nimmo; and sister and best friend, Betty Brewer. They have all proceeded her in death.
Oma married Dale Williams July 3, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They had two girls Stephanie (and John), Burzio of Sapulpa and Charmaine (and Kharim), Strayhorn of Springfield, Mo. Grandsons include Matthew (and Tyler) Stamper and Justin Cox, two great grandsons; Justin Cox Jr and Jayce Cox (mother, Sherri). She had three Grandsons in Missouri: Devin, DJ, and Darius Strayhorn. She worked with Louise Tallent for many years…and they were the best of friends.
Oma and Dale moved to Owasso, Oklahoma and raised their two girls. Oma and Dale loved dancing. Many times their girls would call them “Fred and Ginger” because they danced so divinely, light on their feet, and seemed to be the best partners…in dance and in life. One of the daughters would write letters to them, addressing Fred and Ginger and it always made the postman laugh. They travelled all over the United States and England.
Dale died November 25, 1994. Oma searched for a new dance partner, and finally met Ed Allphin of Owasso. They dated and danced for over 15 years. She and Ed have been all over the United States including Alaska, and even to Aruba!!!
Oma had a wonderful life and had a great support system. She developed cancer, at 88 years old and died September 29th, 2021.
She will be missed.
