He was predeceased by : his parents, Aaron Hughes and Roma Hughes; his wife Anna Louise Hughes; his son Richard Dale Hughes; his siblings, Noma Jean Romine, Eileen Hughes, Jackie Dean Hughes, Hubert Hughes (Dubin) and Earl Leroy Hughes; and his nephews, Richard Allen Hughes and Hubert Floyd Romine.
He is survived by : his children, Nancy Hughes Gotcher (Marty Gotcher) and Roger Hughes (Shawna Hughes); and his grandchildren, Travis Ross, Kyle Hughes (Brittany), Justin Ross, Hannah Birdwhistell (Nate Birdwhistell) and Brayden Hughes. He is also survived by his family and friends.
