He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Belle Carpenter (Parks) and Edmund Carpenter; and his brothers, Clifford Carpenter, John Carpenter, Daniel Carpenter and Russell Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Scharleen Louise Lewis; his children, Cham Carpenter (Amy) of Edmond, Oklahoma and Cheri'Carpenter Tennery (Shawn) of Edmond, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Kinsey Carpenter of Edmond, Oklahoma and Gracie Carpenter of Edmond, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Charles Carpenter of Hammon, Oklahoma, Cynthia Carpenter of Reydon and Belinda Sullivan of Elk City, Oklahoma.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services (600 W Country Club Blvd, Elk City, OK 73644). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (504 N 4th St, Sayre, OK 73662).
