He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Clarence and Lila Joy Sala (Hancock). He is survived by: his children, Timothy Sala (Briana) of Bakersfield, Chase Landon Sala and Justin Buckley; and his siblings, Cynthia L Brassfield of Bakersfield, Jim Sala of Prague and Russell Sala of Bakersfield. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
