We announce the death of Hughie N. Pate of Shawnee, Oklahoma, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 84. Hughie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Pate and Ola B. Pate (Hosey); his wife Diana Wiens; and his siblings, Dorothy Warren, Emmy Stewart, Cecil Stroman, Vera Stroman, Wesley Ledbetter, Bill Ledbetter and Richard Ledbetter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Loman (James) of Lake Eufaula, OK, Paula Pate of Charleston, SC and Robin Anson (Matt) of Seminole, OK; his grandchildren, Dylan Loman, Tyler Pate (Rebecca), Jared Pate, Braden Anson, Gunner Anson and Dalton Peerson; his great great grandchildren, David Peerson, Nicholas Peerson and Royce Peerson; and his daughter Sharlene Peerson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Viewing was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the N. Pate Riley-Walker Funeral Service & Crematory. A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Riley-Walker Funeral Service & Crematory. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at the Resthaven Memorial Park (16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801).
