In the sacred silence of farewell, Lonnie George is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Lonnie George's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Marie (Melott) and George William Dunkin; and his wife Doris L. Dunkin. He is survived by: his son Lonnie G. Dunkin, Jr. of Ketchikan, Alaska; and his grandsons, Lonnie G. Dunkin, III of Austin, TX and Shaun Michael Dunkin of Ketchikan, Alaska. He is also survived by five great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; several cousins and many Potawatomi cousins.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Walker Funeral & Cremation Service (201 E 45th St, Shawnee, OK 74804). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
